If adult-aged clients of AbuseConsultants.com have children in their care which are in dire need of protection and safety, then child protection issues will take precedence over the treatment needs of the adults. In other words, adults cannot allow their own children to be abused because they, the parents, are too overwhelmed by or distraught from or focused on their own childhood trauma to be effective parents. Safety of the children comes first.
