| Bibliotherapy:
Benefits of Talking/Telling
Most
trauma survivors have been heavily threatened
to not tell and have been well-trained to
comply with absolute silence. However, your
voice is very powerful, and talking about
the abuse is absolutely one of the most important
aspects of healing. Each person’s voice
is uniquely designed to literally help that
person heal. Using your voice through song,
singing about the trauma, and learning the
freedom of vocal expression are important
elements to overcoming the effects of abuse
and trauma. Hearing your own voice is truly
a very powerful part of your healing.
