Survey: "The Negative Impact of Childhood Sexual Abuse" (NICSA)

Where else can hundreds of survivors join their voices together and make a very loud and clear statement about the impact of childhood sexual abuse?

For too many years, survivors have been told to “stay quiet” or “keep it secret” or that “nobody will believe you”. No more!!! Society needs to KNOW how devastating abuse is to the survivors. It’s time to tell the truth about how abuse affects people’s lives – your life – and the lives of your friends and family. Find the time and the courage to tell what it is like so society can be educated from the SURVIVOR viewpoint.

Use your voice, your words, your thoughts, and your experiences to speak out. Let your experiences teach and educate other survivors, support people, mental health professionals, and anyone who will listen. Pass on what you have learned, what you have experienced, and help in the fight to stop child abuse. Join in, and complete a survey today.

Are you curious about what survivors and their loved ones have said so far?

AbuseConsultants.com is pleased to announce the first edition NICSA Survey Results booklet.

This 52-page booklet is the first edition of the results of the Negative Impact of Childhood Sexual Abuse survey. The NICSA survey has been available online via AbuseConsultants.com and continues to be open and available for more response. This first edition booklet outlines the responses compiled from nearly 200 surveys from survivors or their loved ones. Have you ever wondered:

What percentages of survivors suffer with severe impacts from their abuse?
What do survivors report as the most debilitating impact of abuse?
What do survivors report as the least affected area of their lives?
What percentage of survivors report having adequate support and treatment?
What treatment/therapies do survivors report as the most effective?
What additional comments have survivors made in terms of how the abuse has affected their lives?
What do survivors say about their ability to obtain adequate treatment and support?
Where to get a copy of the Negative Impact of Childhood Sexual Abuse article?

The comments submitted from the surveys are totally anonymous but they have been kept as close to original as possible in the booklet. Read your comments amongst those of other survivors. TOGETHER survivors are making a very important and significant statement that cannot be overlooked. By joining together with hundred of other survivors, just IMAGINE the impact you can have in terms of safely telling the truth about the ways childhood sexual abuse has affected your lives!!!!

The NICSA Survey Results booklet and the ongoing results of this survey are being presented by the Clinical Director of AbuseConsultants.com at various conferences. The voice of survivors will be used to educate professionals and support people from all over the world. It is a very unique way to present the truth from the people who know it best!

Also, we are very pleased to announce that in October 2003, some of the NICSA Survey Results were presented in the Canadian Parliament by Mr. Larry Spencer, MP for Regina-Lumsden-Lake Center. The information provided in the NICSA Survey Results booklet --- the information provided by survivors -- helped Mr. Spencer present a powerful speech in the House of Commons and helped to win the motion!!!! This is a significant step in gaining more protection for Canadian children from sexual predators. THANK YOU to all survivors who have directly helped in this process. Your contribution is valued more than you’ll ever know!!!!

Our long-term goal for the NICSA Survey is to gather the thoughts and opinions of 1500-2000+ survivors (and/or from people who know survivors). There are thousands and thousands of survivors in the world, so this goal is a mere drop in the bucket. However, the more survivors that contribute in this process, the more accurate and the bigger the statement will be.

If you have not yet completed a survey, or if you know other survivors who could contribute to this process, please do so today. What you have to say is important!
