| Journaling
Exercises
Many
people know that journaling exercises are
an effective and helpful part of the healing
process, but they do not know how to start.
Even after getting past the fear and resistance
about writing, they are stumped for ideas
and stare, in frustration, at a blank page.
Since
breaking the "No talk - No tell - No
write" rules are very important, we have
provided a variety of writing exercises as
a place for you to begin. There are many,
many ways to write - keep exploring until
you find something that works for you.
If
you would like to submit one of your favorite
journaling exercises, please send a free e-mail
to ideas@abuseconsultants.com.
We would love to include your contributions!
Of
course, any of these writing exercises can
be processed with a therapist via a clinical
consultation should you choose to do so.
Please note: writing can be a very powerful
tool, so assess your personal safety and emotional
stability carefully. If you are surprised
or destabilized by the amount of emotionally
charged material that surfaced in your writing,
please get appropriate therapeutic support
as quickly as possible.
