Elven World

i could speak to you in elvish
but i know you'd not hear
so i'll whisper words of english
to glide through your head
while the secrets succumb
to the night

(in silence he stands,
bitter anger biting
like flakes of snow
in the dawn)

i could speak to you of the forest
but i know you'd not listen
so i'll whisper words of english
to glide through your mind
while the secrets burn
through the night

(in silence she hides,
brutal fear shimmering
like rays of heat
in the desert)

i could tell of the shore
waves of pain washing up
i could tell of rainbows
shining in a room so bright
i could tell of a hidden world
which you can never see
where the secrets glide
right over your head

(voices screaming, they emerge
shrill emotions bared
like teeth on a frightened animal
in the wild, wild world)

i could speak to you of it all
but i know you couldn't hear
even my whispered words of english
gliding through your mind
while the secrets glide
over your head

while the secrets glide
and remain secrets, forever
